Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, and LMD, a prominent real estate company, have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to revolutionize innovative city management in Egypt and the UAE. This partnership, unveiled at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, is set to integrate cutting-edge sustainable solutions into LMD’s projects, focusing on intelligent building solutions and AVEVA software. The collaboration aims to advance energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and promote eco-friendly practices within the designated projects.
1. Scope of the Agreement:
The MOU encompasses the One Ninety and Stei8ht projects in Egypt and various LMD projects in Dubai. Renowned for its digital transformation expertise, Schneider Electric will contribute intelligent building solutions and leverage AVEVA software to manage systems and facilities effectively.
2. Smart Building Management Solutions:
Schneider Electric will provide integrated intelligent building management solutions to LMD UAE and LMD Egypt. This includes deploying AVEVA’s Unified Operations Center, offering enterprise-wide operations focusing on real-time processes, alarms, events, and archived data. The solutions aim to streamline system design maintenance and enhance resource functionality, such as elevators and escalators, while effectively managing water consumption.
3. Portfolio of Solutions:
Schneider Electric’s portfolio of projects includes medium voltage panels, loop modules, building management systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), ASCO automatic transfer switches (ATS), and SCADA power management and control systems. These solutions will contribute to diverse projects, reinforcing LMD’s commitment to sustainability.
4. Signatories and Stakeholders:
The agreement was signed during COP28 by Sebastien Riez, Cluster President of Schneider Electric Northeast Africa and Levant, Amel Chadli, Middle East and Africa Digital Energy, New Energy Landscape, and Energy Management Software Vice President of Schneider Electric, Eng—Amr Sultan, CEO of LMD, and Mr. Hamad Al Abbar, Managing Partner of LMD UAE. The collaboration signifies the commitment of both organizations to sustainable development.
5. Focus on Sustainability:
Eng. Amr Sultan, CEO of LMD, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing LMD’s commitment to applying sustainability standards in various projects in Egypt and the UAE. The partnership aligns with global sustainable development trends, aiming to enhance safety, comfort, and sustainability for residents.
6. Project Highlights:
The One Ninety project in Egypt, with a total investment of EGP 42 billion, features unique designs, amenities, and services. Positioned strategically, it includes the W Residences Cairo, managed by Marriott International, a design district (CDD), and globally recognized hotels like W Cairo and Aloft Hotel. Stei8ht, an exclusive residential villa community in New Cairo, spans 1.5 million square meters and integrates contemporary living elements.
Schneider Electric and LMD’s collaboration represents a significant leap toward integrating intelligent and sustainable solutions into real estate projects.
