The year 2024 is poised to be significant for Apple’s iPad lineup, with the company expected to announce a refreshed range of iPads. Notable additions include a large iPad Air with a 12.9-inch screen and an iPad Pro lineup featuring an OLED screen, marking the first instance of OLED technology on an iPad. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo anticipates the announcement of the new iPad Mini, regular iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models early in the coming year.
iPad Air Launch:
The iPad Air is slated to debut in the first quarter of 2024, available in two sizes—11-inch and a larger 12.9-inch variant, resembling the current large-screen iPad Pro. Both models will feature an LCD screen and an upgraded chip for enhanced performance.
iPad Pro Lineup:
Apple plans to unveil the new iPad Pro lineup in the second quarter of 2024. These models will showcase a cutting-edge OLED screen and a powerful M3 processor, promising improved color reproduction, enhanced power efficiency, and better battery life than previous iterations. The redesign and advanced hardware may result in a slightly higher price point.
iPad and iPad Mini Launch:
The second half of 2024 is expected to witness the introduction of the 11th-gen iPad and a new iPad Mini. Reports suggest that Apple discontinue the 9th Gen iPad alongside the new baseline iPad launch, completing the transition from the Lightning port to USB-C across the iPad lineup.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that Apple could ship approximately 52-54 million units of iPads in 2024, a slight decrease from the 63 million units shipped in 2022.
As Apple gears up for a comprehensive refresh of its iPad lineup 2024, including advanced features such as OLED screens and powerful M3 processors, it reflects its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology. The anticipated launches will likely contribute to the evolution of Apple’s tablet offerings, meeting the diverse needs of consumers in the digital landscape.
