Sharjah Police in the UAE has announced that almost all of its services, 98% to be exact, will now be available online. The move aims to expedite response times and ensure the privacy of residents who file complaints. Through the Ministry of Interior app, citizens can now access a range of services online, including reporting damaged or lost items, family disputes, and financial complaints. This digitization of services is expected to streamline processes, speed up response times, and reduce the need for physical visits to police stations.
Sharjah Police has made 98% of its services available online, allowing residents to access and report various issues through the Ministry of Interior app.
Once reports are lodged online, officers in the police station’s back office will process the cases. This includes addressing issues such as lost or damaged items, family disputes, and financial complaints.
Efficiency and Response Time:
The move is deemed an effective use of time for all parties involved and is expected to speed up response times for various complaints significantly.
Privacy in Sensitive Matters:
The online system also allows for maintaining privacy in sensitive matters. For family disputes, testimonies are taken online to avoid individuals needing to come to the police station physically.
In financial cases, video-conferencing technology will take statements from the claimants involved, reducing the need for physical presence.
Travel Bans for Violators:
Complaints lodged against individuals will lead to automatic travel bans, ensuring the rights of all parties involved in financial claims.
While certain physical visits are still required, such as for passport replacements held as part of a case, the ultimate goal is to establish a more resource-efficient, effective, and beneficial system for the community.
