SkyPower Global, a prominent solar power projects company founded in 2003, has become a leading force in developing, financing, building, owning, and operating utility-scale projects across the globe.
Originally based in Toronto, Canada, SkyPower Global now boasts a key office in Dubai, UAE, and has an extensive project pipeline delivering a capacity of over 25GW worldwide.
In recent years, the company’s focus has centered on bilateral agreements and contracts for solar projects in regions such as the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, and Central Asia. These efforts include more than 30 Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) worth billions of dollars in renewable energy sales to utilities and governments.
Notably, in May 2020, SkyPower signed a significant deal with Nigeria’s FAS Energy for a massive 3,000MW solar project. Additionally, in November 2022, the company inked a pivotal agreement with the government of Zimbabwe for the Zimbabwe Solar Power Project – Climate Action Acceleration Agreement, aiming to boost renewable generation capacity in the country and mitigate electricity costs globally.
As climate change concerns intensify, and the demand for clean energy grows, the solar power sector has witnessed substantial expansion. Advances in solar panel technology, improved efficiency, and innovations in energy storage have driven more people to embrace solar power as a cheap, reliable, and eco-friendly energy source.
The International Energy Agency predicts that solar output could surpass that of natural gas in 2026 and coal in 2027.
Leading SkyPower Global through its journey is CEO Kerry Adler, the company’s Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Despite facing challenges, including the 2008 financial crisis when Lehman Brothers, a major investor, filed for bankruptcy, Adler successfully navigated the company through difficult times.
In 2009, Adler secured vital investment from CIM, a community-focused real estate and infrastructure company with a strong commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Under his astute leadership, SkyPower Global now operates in over 35 countries across four continents.
With a wealth of experience in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, logistics, software design, and customer relationship management (CRM), Adler is a prominent advocate for climate action. He is deeply committed to delivering sustainable solutions through Public-Private Partnerships and attracting Foreign Direct Investments.
Adler also actively contributes to various organizations as a board member or advisor, including the UAE Business Council, Canada Africa Business Council, World Economic Forum, Global Economic Forum of The Americas, and UN CFO Advisory Group, among others.
