The second-tallest skyscraper in the world will soon be located in Dubai, according to Azizi CEO Farhad Azizi, who announced via Twitter.
We are officially constructing the second-tallest structure in the world. We recently announced plans to build a new tower in Dubai that will share the skies with the city’s Burj Khalifa and other skyscrapers. My father, Mirwais Azizi, was invited to appear on BBC Persia to discuss these plans. We are pleased with this accomplishment for the Azizi brand, especially in light of our humble beginnings in Afghanistan, where my father founded the business in 1989 with just $500. The name of the new tower is still being decided, but it will ultimately stand in for the Azizi Developments name, according to Azizi on Twitter.
Although the building’s name or height has yet to be made public, Sheikh Zayed Road is where it will supposedly be constructed.
The design for a new tower was revealed in a statement in November last year.
According to rumors, this skyscraper may surpass the majestic Shanghai Tower and the imposing Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which stand at astonishing heights of 2,073.4 feet and 2,227.3 feet, respectively.
Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest structure in the world
Since it was finished in 2010, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has served as a testament to architectural brilliance and captured the attention of the entire world.
The Burj Khalifa, which soars to an astounding height of 828 meters (2,717 ft), holds the title of the tallest skyscraper in the world. Its astounding height represents Dubai’s aspirational aim to build remarkable skyscrapers.
The Burj Khalifa was created by the Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) architectural firm and exhibits a stunning blend of Islamic and modern architectural elements. The Hymenocallis desert flower serves as the inspiration for its slender profile and characteristic setbacks.
The building of the tower required ground-breaking engineering. A steel spire at the top and a reinforced concrete structure give it stability and resilience against strong winds and seismic effects.
Modern technology is used in the Burj Khalifa to improve its sustainability and energy effectiveness.
The 163 floors of the Burj Khalifa are home to various uses, including opulent residences, business offices, the Armani Hotel Dubai, and observation decks. The skyscraper successfully serves as a vertical metropolis, providing for its citizen’s and visitors’ requirements.
The observation deck “At the Top” at the top of the Burj Khalifa offers unmatched panoramic views of Dubai and beyond. Pictures of the expansive Arabian Gulf, the spreading desert, and the city’s skyline are spectacular.
Modern technology is used in the Burj Khalifa to improve its sustainability and energy effectiveness. A condensate collection system, solar panels, and a high-performance façade aid its eco-friendly design.
The Burj Khalifa’s outside is transformed into the world’s highest LED-illuminated façade every evening. The mesmerizing light show, accompanied by music, captures viewers’ attention and symbolizes Dubai’s energetic nightlife.
The Burj Khalifa draws millions of tourists each year as one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world. It now forms a crucial part of Dubai’s tourism sector, providing visitors with a memorable experience.
The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) awarded the Burj Khalifa the renowned “Global Icon” title, among other honors. Additionally, it holds the record for the tallest service elevator, highest outdoor observation deck, and highest occupied floor.
The Burj Khalifa represents Dubai’s aspiration, ambition, and commitment to breaking barriers. It symbolizes the city’s development into an international trade, tourism, and innovation center, solidifying its reputation as a contemporary wonder of the world.
