The Emirates Group has initiated a large-scale recruitment campaign to fill numerous vacancies for various positions, including cabin crew, pilots, engineers, IT professionals, and customer service agents. The recruitment drive encompasses Emirates Airlines and Dnata, the airport services provider, and integral group subsidiaries.
Oliver Grohmann, Senior Vice President for Human Resources at the Emirates Group, emphasized the organization’s commitment to attracting top talent and individuals best suited for the diverse roles that will contribute to its future growth and expansion. The group aims to efficiently and effectively identify, select, and engage with candidates by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as digital assessments, artificial intelligence, and advanced recruitment systems.
During the previous financial year, the Emirates Group received approximately 2.7 million applications worldwide for positions across the organization. By the end of the 2022-23 fiscal year, the group employed 102,379 staff, experiencing a significant 20% increase of 85,219 employees compared to the previous year.
Since the pandemic’s gradual recovery, Emirates, flydubai, and other local airlines have launched extensive recruitment drives since late 2021. The Emirates Group reported a record profit of Dh10.9 billion in 2022-23, a notable turnaround from the Dh3.8 billion loss in the previous year.
As Dubai’s flagship carrier, Emirates continues to expand its route network and receive new aircraft, including Airbus A350s and Boeing 777-Xs, necessitating additional staff to meet operational demands. To facilitate recruitment, Emirates will conduct open days and invite-only events in numerous cities throughout the year, completing the recruitment process in a single day and contacting candidates within 48 hours of assessment.
Emirates is organizing open days for pilots in Dublin, Manchester, London Gatwick, and London Stansted in August. Additionally, an online information session is scheduled for July 19. Since 2022, the airline has recruited over 900 new pilots through its three recruitment programs: direct entry captains, accelerated command, and first officers.
Emirates Engineering plans to hold open days in Australia, Canada, Brazil, South Africa, and the UK in July and August, focusing on hiring 75 structural technicians and over 400 positions in aircraft maintenance engineering and engineering support roles.
To bolster its IT capabilities, the group aims to recruit more than 400 IT professionals with expertise in software engineering, DevOps, hybrid cloud, agile delivery, technical product management, digital workplace, cybersecurity, IT architecture, innovation, and service management.
For customer service roles, the Emirates Group seeks individuals who will undergo comprehensive training before joining Emirates Airport Services, dnata, Marhaba, or the contact centers. These roles offer flexibility regarding full-time or part-time positions, enabling employees to align their work with their lifestyle and career objectives.
