The popularity of the generative AI bot ChatGPT is rising significantly. Since its launch in November 2022, it has accumulated more than 100 million users, according to investment bank UBS.
The bot has several uses. It can also construct your résumé, summarise user-inputted content, generate emails and essays, and respond to inquiries. And many businesses are using the platform to produce their content.
According to Margaret Lilani, vice president of talent solutions at labor marketplace Upwork, “we’ve seen high demand for this category of work,” and businesses “are looking to build up the supply of freelancers who can support this demand.”
Picking up a job to assist businesses with content creation, such as LinkedIn articles, blogs, podcast show notes, and even social media postings for Twitter and Instagram utilizing ChatGPT, could be fruitful if you’re searching for side employment and have a penchant for technology and language. This is the procedure.
An ‘AI content assistant’ is what it is called.
Companies today must put forth extra effort to develop their brands. According to Angelique Rewers, CEO of BoldHaus, a consulting company that aids small businesses in finding corporate clients, “the bar has been raised for how much content you need to publish on your website and on social media” to create a splash.
Staff members and executives in businesses give talks, webinars, and presentations. They take part in gatherings and seminars. These are all possibilities to produce written content for articles for blogs, marketing materials, newsletters, LinkedIn postings, and social media updates. But it takes time to do it.
Rewers refers to this as the “AI content assistant”‘s” role. This individual would take the audio from these events, transcribe it using a tool like Rev or Otter.ai, then enter the text into ChatGPT and instruct the bot to create the necessary material.
Rewers explains that the assistant would take the transcription, enter it into ChatGPT, give it the prompt, and then proofread the finished product to “make sure that it’s not gobbledygook.” “You can copy and paste in a transcription and say, ‘turn this into a 700-word blog article with five tips,'” Rewers says. The use of AI will be a significant new side business.
It needn’t take a long time to learn how to hustle. It takes approximately a week to ramp up, according to Rewers, which includes learning how ChatGPT and the transcribing services operate. She suggests you look at some YouTube lessons for pointers and guidance, but “it’s very intuitive.”
“This is so simple to do once you understand the prompts.”
Additionally, AI content assistants can earn well. She states you can bill anything from $20 to $100 per hour. If a company is actively looking for this kind of assistant, you may offer your skills on websites like Upwork and Fiverr and add the talent to your LinkedIn profile.
“I don’t see it going away,” says Rewers of this type of side business. “Using AI and assisting business owners in using AI will be the biggest new side hustle.”
