The 21st Asian Athletics Championships will be in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dahlan Jaman Al Hamad, Chairman of the Asian Athletics Association, presented the championship’s flag to Major General Dr Mohammed Al Mur, President of the UAE Athletics Federation, outside of the 20th edition of the competition, which was held in South Korea on June 4 to 7.
Al Mur emphasized that the prestigious event, which the UAE will host for the first time, will be a significant turning point in the history of sports in the nation as well as the creation of plans and programs aimed at boosting the abilities and talents of athletes and expanding their exposure in the region.
He continued that by hosting such important athletic events, the UAE would strengthen its position as a worldwide leader and stature in world sports. He added that the association’s board of directors would take the required actions to guarantee the finest procedures for holding Asian tournaments.
He also emphasized how crucial the occasion was in advancing the association’s goals.
