A school in Dubai has informed the parents of the potential dangers that may be posed to their children due to their consumption of Prime Energy beverages.
In a recent circular sent home to parents, GEMS World Academy brought to their attention a number of different health issues that might arise as a result of drinking these beverages, including the chance of establishing an addiction and anxiousness.
According to the school, the consumption of these beverages is linked to various adverse health effects, including feelings of anxiety and the potential for the development of an addiction.
The following is an excerpt from a letter written to parents and provided to Khaleej Times: “I am writing to bring to your attention an issue of great concern that has lately come to our mind. Sahar Taheri, the Director of Public Relations and Communications at GEMS World Academy (GWA), stated, “We feel it is our responsibility to inform you about the potential dangers associated with it.”
It went on to say that drinking an excessive amount of these beverages can lead to various health problems, such as an increased heart rate and blood pressure, dehydration, sleep disruptions, anxiety, and even addiction.
As a reaction to this concern, GEMS World Academy has instituted a regulation prohibiting students from “buying or selling” Prime or any other products while on the academy’s premises.
This judgment was taken based on the recognition that Prime Energy expressly states that its services are not suitable for those under the age of 18, a fact that is even indicated on the official website of Prime Energy, as Taheri pointed out. As a result of this recognition, this decision was made.
Prime is expanding its product line by introducing two new beverages: an energy drink and a hydrating sports drink called Prime Hydration.
Prime Hydration, on the other hand, “is suitable for children and is a hydration drink that is used for muscle recovery and replacing electrolytes,” according to the letter. Prime Energy, on the other hand, “is suitable for adults.”
