Zabeel Park in Dubai expects around 2,000 people to set a Guinness World Record for the most nationalities at an international yoga event on Saturday.
Dubai Sports Council and partners will host the May 13 tournament.
Leading up to the major event at Zabeel Park’s Dubai Frame Amphitheatre, several activities are planned to unite the world in health and wellness.
At a Monday press conference, officials announced plans to allow over 3,000 individuals to practice yoga at the park. Organizers encourage families—even those with children—to attend the day’sday’s massive celebration.
Over 200 volunteers will welcome participants at park gates, with abundant parking. Use the Dubai Metro.
Visitors who want to participate in the world record-setting event get free evening park admission from the Dubai Municipality.
After 4 pm, Zabeel Park will have pre-events and entertainment, including 60 minutes of yoga for all levels after sunset. Ahmed Mohamed Nabil, Senior Media Officer, Communication and Communication Department, Dubai Sports Council, says, “It is a great initiative and considered one of the most important events in the Dubai sports council agenda. We hope the international yoga event breaks the record for most nationalities. People will receive free yoga mats. People can take it home.
Participants will receive water. I’m sure the weather will be excellent since it’sit’s an evening event. Please bring your family and enjoy.”
Event organizers and partners encourage inhabitants of all races and nationalities to participate and be motivated to live a healthy lifestyle.
The Indian Sports Centre, under the Embassy of India in Qatar, had a yoga session in 2022 with 114 international participants, setting a world record.
Allaoua Gaham, event educator, YogiPreneur, Ted Ex-Speaker, and author, adds, “Dubai is [the] perfect place to hold this kind of event, which already is home to so many different nationalities. The unity of people from all ethnicities, religions, and cultures under one flag—the flag of humanity, the flag of practicing something beneficial for our mind, body, and intellect—is remarkable. Yoga is.
Yoga helps with all of these, especially our goal of uniting people. We invited Global World Record representatives from Guinness to verify this. Dubai will again be recognized as one of the most tolerant places on Earth. Imagine (ideally) over 2,000 people with different passports working together to smash the record and set a new one. Please tell your international friends to assist us in setting a new world record.”
Pre- and post-event activations and surprises are promised by organizers. The event’sevent’s influencers and performers will inspire attendees.
