With Ferrari’s entry into the SUV market with the Purosangue, a new era for the Italian automaker has begun. While Ferrari has produced 2+2 vehicles in the past, the company has created an SUV with “the Prancing Horse DNA” in honor of its 75th anniversary this year.
Ferrari believes that the Purosangue is more of a 2+2 Grand Tourer than what we would classify as an SUV. A look at its statistics also begs the question: Is the Purosangue an SUV? A sporty crossover, perhaps? Or even a GT? Ferrari alone can reveal it, I guess.
For those of you who need a refresher, the Purosangue is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 that, in this version, cranks out a massive 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque. The 4,482 pound car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 192 mph thanks to the quick dual clutch transmission.

The Purosangue is top of Ferrari’s list for the Purosangue’s global sales campaign, and the Italian automaker hosted an event at the Emirates Towers to launch the vehicle exclusively to the Middle East market. High-profile clients and VIP visitors from the Middle East and India were invited to the glitzy event.
General Manager Dieter Knechtel of Ferrari Middle East served as the company’s representative, and Dieter Knechtel, President of Ferrari Far East & Middle East, and Emanuele Carando, Global Head of Product Marketing, presided over the unveiling.
